Pastor Sheaneter Johnson:
A Life of Faith, Service, and Legacy
Reverend Sheaneter Johnson was born in Shannon, Mississippi, to the late T.C. and Minnie Owens Johnson. As the twelfth child in her family rooted in faith and service, she was nurtured in an environment where spiritual devotion and community care were foundational.
Her pursuit of education began at Itawamba Community College, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in Tool & Die. She continued her academic journey at the University of Mississippi and later obtained a Master of Divinity from the esteemed Phillips School of Theology at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating with honors.
Rev. Johnson’s call to ministry became unmistakable in 2000, when she publicly accepted her role as an Exhorter and declared her calling to preach. She served faithfully as a local minister for six years before being ordained as both Deacon in 2003 and Elder in 2006 under Bishop Brown. Her pastoral assignments included Jones Chapel, by Elder Q.H. Whitlock, and later appointed by Bishop Hawthorne Lakey, where she ministered withdistinction. In 2023, under the leadership of Bishop KennethWayne Carter, she was officially received into Full Connection. Currently serving at St Peter CME in El Cerrito, CA, and Kelley Chapel in Oakland, CA, appointed by Bishop Charley Hames, Jr.
Pastor Johnson is a woman of unwavering conviction and spiritual depth, anchored in the truth of Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” Her life and ministry reflect this promise, even in seasons of preparation and pressure.
Beyond the pulpit, she is a proud mother of three, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, continuing the legacy of faith within her family. As a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Honor Society, she exemplifies excellence in education, leadership, and service.
From the classroom to the pulpit, from the refining fire of preparation to the fulfillment of divine purpose, Pastor Sheaneter Johnson stands as a living testament to God’s faithfulness and the transformative power of answering His call.
